Garden Gratitude

We are so excited to announce that the Native Habitat Garden has been 90% planted!

Special thanks to:

- 5th Grade: Every interested student planted at least one native plant, digging with pick axes and shovels and then setting the irrigation!

- Desert Botanical Garden: for plants, specifically a large variety of milkweed and pollinators you can't find anywhere

- Desert Tree Farm: Wholesale nursery who donated native plants

- Treeland Nursery: Retail nursery who donated native plants

- Murphy's Trees: Arborist/Owner/Parent Drew Murphy donated and planted a large Palo Verde

- Valley Scapes: Owner/Parent Jose Cardenas for fixing an irrigation issue and donating his crew the day before Thanksgiving to help plant the last of the plants!

 - Parents: Thank you to all the parents who have volunteered to help oversee planting, dig holes, set irrigation, and water at odd hours!

The garden is a native habitat, that means many plants are sharp, please continue to keep students on paths and remind them to enjoy the plants from a safe distance as they learn about the beauty of our desert habitat ;)

 Membership Toolkit

Everything in one place to help parents. MTK is our website
(hooray, you're here!)

Please Sign-Up and be sure to Login to do the following.

Volunteer: From ongoing activities like Cougar Paw Store, Workroom, and Running Club, to one day special events.

Find Friends: Kyrene does not provide student information to parents, so if you are looking for a classmates contact info for playdates or parties, this is where you can find them...if they are registered.

Be In The Know: We do our best to keep the website up to date, so check back for both School and PTO events that are coming up.

Committee Members wanted

Workroom: Want to help teachers be ready for class? Workroom is a great opportunity to do this. This role requires regular check-ins inside the school workroom, but beyond that much of the work can be done at home.

Veggie / Native Garden: Love plants? The two gardens will be needing more regular attention. With a small group the weekly check-ins will be a breeze. We are looking for people interested in getting their hands dirty (weeding, pruning, etc.), learning about the irrigation system, and occasionally working with teachers and students in the gardens.

 Veggie Garden Legacy Bricks

Want to support and be a lasting part of the Norte Veggie Garden?

You can do both by purchasing and painting a Legacy Brick for just $20.

Click HERE to purchase online

This kit includes a brick, paint and paint brushes. Families can choose how to pick up the brick. Take the brick home and return the painted brick to the front office. From there, one of our awesome volunteers will apply a sealant and plant it in the veggie garden.
